Welcome and Thank You for coming.  We hope you enjoy your visit with Desert Breeze Dogs.

If you have been in dogs for years and Desert Breeze sounds familiar, you probably remember Sea Breeze Kennel.  I, Linn "then Greene", had a successful breeding/showing kennel in New Hampshire 25 years ago. Starting with Akitas and adding Shiba Inu’s, my breeding program produced wonderful dogs that gained recognition not only in the show ring, winning Championships and national rankings, and ROM’s, but national recognition among top breeders as well.

I moved to New Mexico , working as a Vet Tech and being a Ranch Forman. On the adjoining ranch there lived a cowboy named Steve Vandiver.  We were introduced by mutual friends and married in 2002. 

Life was wonderful, but I missed breeding and showing dogs. After months and months of research on various toy breeds I decided that the Toy Fox Terriers was just what I wanted.

The internet provided one of the best gifts that I could have ever imagined... finding an old friend, BJ Andrews, we'd been friends for many years and both enjoyed exhibition and breeding of Akitas and Shiba Inu’s.  However, in 1992, we lost touch when I relocated to New Mexico. Unbelievably, she was now raising Toy Fox Terriers.

Our foundation in Toy Fox Terriers began in September, 2007 when Speed Bump O’BJ joined our family.

When it comes to a Show Quality dog or puppy, I say and believe that “if I wouldn’t keep any puppy or dog to show or breed, I don’t want anyone else to."  That’s why I like to stay in touch with all of our puppy and dog owners. Every breeder who sells a puppy is making their best educated guess at a puppy’s young age as to the quality. I want to make sure that the puppy does turn out to be show quality. If not, we will replace that puppy the next available litter we have.

I would much prefer to have a puppy go to a great home as a pet and find out later that he should be in the show ring rather than have a puppy go into a great home, expecting to go into the show ring and not have the quality I would want to see in that ring.”

At our home you'll find Steve and I surrounded by Amy, TC, our TFT’s and starting in 2009, ChiChi's!!! Our Toy Fox Terriers and Chihuahuas are not only “show dogs”, but more importantly part of our family. Our dogs do not stay in kennel runs, but in our home which of course has a door just their size.  You’ll find them basking in the New Mexico Sunshine, or possibly lounging beside the water feature and pool.  When we finally call it a day, you will definitely see them jumping into the first lap that appears on the love seat to watch television.  They get bathed in the kitchen sink, and everyone who comes to the door comes to see them, they of course allow us to visit too, just as soon as they have said their hellos!  Yep… at Desert Breeze Dogs, it’s a dog’s life all right.

We are dedicated to producing Toy Fox Terriers and Chihuahuas following the AKC Standard.  We believe that it is important to not only follow the Standard Guidelines, but also to provide other Toy Fox Terrier and Chihuahuas Fancier’s and Families with well socialized and family oriented puppies and adults.  We do occasionally have puppies and adults available.  We believe that quality, not quantity is very important.
